Gary Slaight Receives His Star on Canada's Walk of Fame
At a star-studded anniversary gala in Toronto on Saturday, Gary Slaight received his own star on Canada's Walk of Fame, in recognition of his work as a pioneering broadcast executive and a leading patron of the arts. Gary was introduced by his friend (and 2018 inductee) Andy Kim, and his tribute featured a medley of songs by Gordon Lightfoot, performed by Brett Kissel, Tom Wilson, Jessica Mitchell and Theo Tams, along with the Dixon Music Hall's children's choir.

$26.5M in Gifts to Youth Mental Health Initiatives
The Slaight Family Foundation today announced it will donate $26.5 million to 19 organizations, including national charities, Greater Toronto Area hospitals, and community service providers, to support and expand services for youth suffering from mental health issues. The initiative will enable recipient organizations to provide new or enhanced models of care for youth suffering from such issues as substance use disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, eating disorders and post-partum depression.

Gary Slaight to join list of Canada's Walk of Fame Inductees
On December 2nd, Gary Slaight will be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame, an organization he has supported as a partner since its founding twenty-five years ago. Joining Gary will be the co-founders of Roots Michael Budman and Don Green, actor Tantoo Cardinal, singer Avril Lavigne, Supreme Court Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella, hockey player Connor McDavid, comedian Rick Mercer and Dr. Brenda Milner, among others.
