Gary Slaight Receives His Star on Canada's Walk of Fame

At a star-studded anniversary gala in Toronto on Saturday, Gary Slaight received his own star on Canada's Walk of Fame, in recognition of his work as a pioneering broadcast executive and a leading patron of the arts. Gary was introduced by his friend (and 2018 inductee) Andy Kim, and his tribute featured a medley of songs by Gordon Lightfoot, performed by Brett Kissel, Tom Wilson, Jessica Mitchell and Theo Tams, along with the Dixon Music Hall's children's choir. 

The Walk of Fame, honouring notable Canadians for excellence in fields spanning entertainment to humanitarianism, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The event took place on December 2nd, 2023 and will be broadcast on CTV on Dec 16th.
